Jetour has opened refundable blind orders in China for the Tourer, a boxy compact SUV shown at the Chengdu auto show on 21 August. It is the brand’s first battery-electric car, and most of what is known about it comes from a regulatory filing rather than from Jetour.

Who Jetour is

Jetour is one of the brands of Chery, which is China’s largest vehicle exporter. It launched in January 2018 in Wuhu, sells as Jietu in China and as Jetour everywhere else, and built its range on family SUVs and MPVs with a travel theme: the X70 and X90 families, the boxy T1 and T2, the Zongheng G700. Chery’s structure around it is layered - Exeed above as the premium marque, Omoda and Jaecoo as export-only brands, iCAUR sold as iCar at home - and Jetour is the part of it that sells under one name everywhere. Until now none of its cars ran on battery power alone.

What the filing says

The Tourer’s specifications come from Jetour’s submission to China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the declaration a carmaker has to file before a model can be sold. It lists a rear-drive version with one 200 kW (268 hp) permanent-magnet motor, and an all-wheel-drive version that adds a 75 kW induction motor at the front for 275 kW (369 hp) combined. Both top out at 180 km/h. The body is 4,475 mm long, 1,880 mm wide and 1,700 mm tall on a 2,735 mm wheelbase, with a longer 4,605 mm variant on the same wheelbase also declared, ground clearance over 200 mm and five seats.

What is still missing

The battery is lithium-iron-phosphate, with cells from Anhui Deyi Energy and the pack built by a Chery subsidiary in Wuhu. Jetour calls it the Rhino battery and claims combined range beyond 500 km, but has not published a capacity or a figure on a named homologation cycle. Chinese outlets have reported 67.2 kWh and around 550 km on CLTC; neither is confirmed. Prices and trim levels are also unannounced, which is what makes the orders blind: buyers place a refundable deposit before the price list exists.

Inside, Jetour has kept the instrument display and the central touchscreen separate rather than merging them into one panel, and retained physical controls alongside wireless phone charging. The rear seats fold flat into a camping bed and there are external power outlets. Driver assistance is the Falcon 500 package, built on seven cameras, three radars and twelve ultrasonic sensors, with no lidar. Sales start in the fourth quarter of 2026.
