Nissan has revealed the 2027 Rogue Hybrid, the first car of the fourth-generation Rogue and the first Nissan sold in the US with e-POWER. Nissan has used the system in Japan and Europe for years; the Rogue gets its third generation.
How e-POWER differs from a regular hybrid
In most hybrids, the engine and the electric motor both turn the wheels. In e-POWER the wheels are always driven by electric motors, and the petrol engine, here a 1.5-litre turbo three-cylinder of 148 hp, only runs a generator that charges a small 1.67 kWh battery. There is no gearbox, and the car cannot be plugged in. Nissan’s pitch is that it drives like an EV, with instant torque and one-pedal driving, while filling up at a petrol station.
With one motor on each axle, all-wheel drive is standard, and total output is 225 hp.
The body and interior are new. Depending on trim, the infotainment screen is 12.3 or 14.3 inches and runs Google built-in with Gemini, and ProPILOT Assist can change lanes automatically and drive hands-off in traffic jams.

Prices exclude the $1,575 destination charge. The first cars come from Japan, and production moves to Nissan’s Smyrna plant in Tennessee in 2027. The petrol Rogue carries over unchanged for the 2027 model year, and the Rogue Plug-in Hybrid stays on sale.
