Nissan revealed the Pixo on 23 September 2026, a small electric car that puts the brand back into Europe’s A-segment, the smallest class of city car. Renault builds it for Nissan at Novo Mesto in Slovenia, next to the Renault Twingo E-Tech and the second-generation Dacia Spring.
Built by Renault
The Pixo is the car Renault agreed to supply in March 2025, when the two companies reworked their alliance and Renault took on development and production of a Twingo-based electric model for Nissan. It sits on the Twingo’s RG-EV platform, with a 60 kW (82 PS) front motor and a 27.5 kWh LFP battery rated at up to 259 km WLTP. Nissan’s share of the work is the body and the software, which runs Google built-in with the Gemini assistant and the MyNissan app.
The electric Micra, one size up, follows the same arrangement: it is based on the Renault 5 and built by Renault. The Pixo name itself is a revival, from a petrol city car Nissan sold from 2009 to 2013.
Prices in December
Nissan has not announced prices or trim levels. Both are due in December 2026, with first deliveries in early 2027.
