GermanyPorsche’s 2026 model-year update for the electric Cayenne adds power-operated doors, which the company says are “now offered as an option for the first time”. Porsche has not published a price for them or a date for when they can be ordered.
Power doors
A short pull on the door handle is enough; servo motors then open or close all four doors. The doors can also be worked from buttons in the cabin, the PCM display and the Porsche Digital Key.
The driver’s door can close itself once the driver fastens the seat belt or presses the brake pedal. Porsche ties the system to its exit warning, so a door does not open if other vehicles are approaching. Carscoops reports that the sensors also stop the doors if they detect a person or an obstacle.
4D Audio seats and more paint
Each front seat now has 16 air cushions and six sound actuators. The actuators turn music into vibration through the seat, and Porsche offers five massage programmes plus three Wellness Mood Modes that combine massage, vibration and sound.
Paint to Sample, from Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, adds 92 shades to the 13 standard colours, for 105 in total.
Wireless charging
Porsche’s 11 kW inductive charging, announced earlier for the Cayenne Electric, is now available to order in Germany and other European markets. A ground pad fitted in the parking space transfers energy at up to about 90 percent efficiency, with no cable to plug in. Porsche plans a phased worldwide rollout that excludes China.
