Ram has published prices for the 2027 ProMaster City. The van lists from $37,400 for the Tradesman cargo van and $41,600 for the SLT passenger wagon, and with the $2,595 destination charge added that is $39,995 to $44,195 delivered. Ram calls the entry price the lowest cost of acquisition in the commercial-van segment. Orders open in the second half of 2026 and dealers take deliveries in the first quarter of 2027.
The nameplate last appeared on a 2022 model. What comes back under it is a different vehicle in a different size class.
The van underneath is European
The first ProMaster City, sold from 2015 to 2022, was a Fiat Doblo with Ram badges: a small van, built at the Tofas plant in Bursa, Turkey. The 2027 car keeps the name and the factory and changes almost everything else. It is the American version of the Stellantis midsize van, the vehicle sold across Europe as the Citroen Jumpy and Dispatch, the Peugeot Expert, the Fiat Scudo, the Opel and Vauxhall Vivaro and the Toyota ProAce. Ram gives it its own grille, bumpers and badging, a petrol engine and an eight-speed automatic; the body, doors and glasshouse are the European van’s.
Stellantis describes the underpinnings only as a proven commercial platform with more than 1.5 million units sold, without naming the European models. The vehicle in the photographs names them for it.
What it carries
Cargo volume is more than 167 cubic feet over a load floor 111 inches long, with 48 inches clear between the wheel wells, enough to take two standard US pallets or a sheet of drywall flat. Payload is quoted at more than 2,000 pounds and towing at a targeted 2,000 pounds with the optional Class 3 hitch. Overall height is under 77 inches and the wheelbase is 129 inches; Ram has not released overall length or width.
Every version uses the same drivetrain, a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol four with 166 hp and 221 lb-ft, driving the front wheels through an eight-speed automatic. There is no diesel and no electric version in the American range.
Four configurations, two trims
Tradesman and SLT trims are each sold as a cargo van or a passenger wagon, the wagon seating five as standard and eight with the optional third row; Ram counts eleven distinct window, panel and rear-door combinations across the four. The Tradesman runs black plastic bumpers, the SLT body-coloured bumpers with fog lamps and 17-inch two-tone wheels.
Standard equipment on both is a 10-inch touchscreen with navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, a five-inch digital rear-view mirror, heated front seats, LED headlamps, a reversing camera, rear parking sensors and forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking. Vans bound for the United States are shipped from Bursa and pass through Stellantis’s Baltimore Transformation Center for upfitting before delivery.
