The Hustler is Suzuki’s boxy kei crossover — a format unique to Japan’s domestic market, where cars with engines under 660cc and dimensions under 3,400 mm benefit from lower tax and insurance rates. The second generation launched in 2020; this update brings revised styling and a longer standard equipment list without touching the mechanicals.
Powertrain — unchanged. The naturally aspirated 660cc engine produces 49 hp. The turbocharged version makes 64 hp. Both are paired with a belt-type CVT and a starter-generator mild hybrid system that provides a small torque assist at low speeds. Front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive.
Hustler changes — a larger, bolder grille replaces the previous one, and the front bumper has been redesigned to incorporate foglights (not standard on base trim). The colour palette has been expanded with new two-tone combinations.
Hustler Tough Wild changes — this outdoor-focused variant gets a revised grille with rectangular mesh elements replacing the horizontal bars of the outgoing car. The Suzuki wordmark replaces the model badge on the grille. A new exterior colour has been added.
Interior — new trim materials and revised upholstery patterns. The infotainment system remains an optional extra rather than standard equipment. New to the standard equipment list: blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keep assist. The collision mitigation system has been upgraded.
Pricing in Japan — Hustler: from 1,599,400¥ to 1,971,200¥ (approximately $10,000–$12,350). Hustler Tough Wild: from 1,835,900¥ to 2,048,200¥ (approximately $11,500–$12,850). The Hustler and its variants are a Japan-only model and are not sold in other markets.
