Telo Trucks, a startup based in San Carlos, California, has published prices for the MT1, a four-door electric pickup that is 152 inches (3,861 mm) long. The Verge drove a prototype on a one-block test in October. Telo’s own site lists the figures below as estimates, and The Verge says the truck still needs EPA and California certification, so none of them are certified numbers.

Prices and drivetrains

Telo’s online configurator lists the single-motor, rear-wheel-drive MT1 from $41,520 and the dual-motor, all-wheel-drive version from $46,019. The larger 106 kWh Long Range battery is a $3,980 option on either. Reservations cost a refundable $152, and Telo says it has just over 14,000 of them, with about 70% of holders configuring the all-wheel-drive truck with the larger pack.

DriveRear-wheelAll-wheel
Power (hp)300500
Payload (lb)2,0001,700
Towing (lb)6,6008,000

The split in the table is Telo’s own. The all-wheel-drive truck tows more but carries 300 lb less, so a single “2,000 lb payload and 8,000 lb tow” headline describes two different trucks.

Range, charging and the bed

Telo quotes range in miles: an estimated 260 miles (418 km) on the standard pack and 350 miles (563 km) on the 106 kWh pack, which The Verge reports alongside a 77 kWh standard pack. Telo says 20-80% charging takes 20 minutes, using a pack split between 400 V and 800 V circuits. The 60-inch bed becomes 96 inches long when the midgate behind the rear seats folds down, long enough for a 4 x 8 ft plywood sheet with the tailgate closed. The Telo MT1 page carries the full set of targets.

Timing

Telo told The Verge it plans to get trucks to customers sometime in 2027, depending on validation. Full crash testing starts next year, ahead of deliveries, and the company is aiming for profitability at around 5,000 vehicles within about 24 months of deliveries. The interior is still being finalised: Telo says it will have two 13-inch displays with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The company was founded in 2022 and is profiled on the Telo brand page.
