Toyota released early preview images of the facelifted Crown Crossover on July 15, 2026, ahead of a full reveal planned for mid-September in Japan. The teaser shows a black-and-white two-tone prototype from the front and rear, focused on the model’s most visibly reworked area: its tail.
The rear fender now flows into the tailgate in one continuous line, giving the back of the car a wider, more settled stance than the current generation. The LED taillight bar keeps its horizontal layout from the outgoing model, while the front end and overall body silhouette carry over with only minor changes. Toyota has not detailed the exact two-tone paint split for the finished car, though outside reporting on the preview images points to the black roof section extending further back over the rear pillars than on the current model.
Toyota has not yet disclosed powertrain or pricing changes for the update. The current Crown Crossover runs a 236 hp hybrid with E-Four all-wheel drive on its G and Z grades, and a 344 hp turbocharged Hybrid MAX system on the range-topping RS, priced in Japan from ¥5,150,000 to ¥6,700,000 depending on grade.
The Crossover’s refresh is expected to land alongside updates to the rest of the Crown family, sold in Japan as four separate body styles, Crossover, Sedan, Sport and Estate, since the nameplate’s 2022 relaunch.
