The A6 allroad is the raised, all-terrain version of Audi’s A6 Avant estate, now in its fifth generation on the C9 platform. Compared with the standard Avant, it adds plastic body cladding, more ground clearance and a chassis tuned for rough surfaces.
Chassis. Adaptive air suspension is standard and lifts the car 34 mm to 179 mm of ground clearance. Wheels range from 19 to 21 inches, and quattro ultra all-wheel drive is fitted across the range. Rear-wheel steering is standard on the e-hybrid and optional on the TDI.
Engines. The e-hybrid pairs a 2.0-litre TFSI petrol four (252 hp) with a 143 hp electric motor for 367 hp and 500 Nm combined, a 25.9 kWh battery, 95 km of WLTP electric range, and a 0 to 100 km/h time of 5.5 seconds. The alternative is a 3.0-litre V6 TDI diesel with 299 hp and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system using three electric motors, slightly quicker at 5.4 seconds.
Inside. Three screens carry over from the A6: an 11.9-inch cluster, a 14.5-inch central display, and a 10.9-inch passenger screen, under a panoramic roof. Boot space is 466 to 1,497 litres in the diesel and 404 to 1,423 litres in the plug-in hybrid.
