Overview

Avatr 07L platform and positioning

The 07L is Avatr’s five-seat electric SUV, launched in China on 8 August 2026 in three trims - Elite, Max+ and Ultra - priced at ¥229,900 (~$34,200), ¥249,900 (~$37,100) and ¥279,900 (~$41,600). Avatr is a joint venture between Changan, battery maker CATL and Huawei, which supplies the car’s driving and cockpit software. The 07L extends Avatr’s model line beyond the 11 and 12, aiming at the wave of five-seat family SUVs from Chinese brands competing on range, price and driver-assistance hardware rather than styling alone.

Avatr 07L powertrain and range

Every trim shares an 89.33 kWh CATL Shenxing battery on an 800-volt silicon-carbide platform, supporting 5C fast charging from 30-80% in under 10 minutes. The single-motor, rear-wheel-drive Elite and Max+ produce 409 hp (305 kW), reach 62 mph in 5.9 seconds and are rated at 725 km on China’s CLTC cycle - a figure measured at lower average speeds than WLTP or EPA testing, so it will not translate directly into a Western range rating. The range-topping Ultra swaps in a tri-motor, all-wheel-drive layout for 955 hp (712 kW) and a 3.7-second 0-62 mph time, at the cost of range: its CLTC rating drops to 650 km.

Avatr 07L driver assistance

Every trim gets Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 5 driver-assistance system as standard, a step up from the ADS 4 fitted to Avatr’s earlier cars, fed by a roof-mounted lidar with 896 channels that Avatr says can resolve an object 14 cm across at 120 m - a higher channel count than most production lidar units, which translates to a denser point cloud and finer detail at range.

Avatr 07L price and trims

Standard pricing runs ¥229,900 (~$34,200) for the Elite, ¥249,900 (~$37,100) for the Max+ and ¥279,900 (~$41,600) for the Ultra, with a limited-time launch promotion knocking ¥10,000 (~$1,500) off each (¥219,900 (~$32,700), ¥239,900 (~$35,600) and ¥269,900 (~$40,100), from about $32,380) that is not the standing price.
