Overview

The XT6 is Cadillac’s three-row midsize SUV, seating six or seven depending on configuration. It shared its platform with the GMC Acadia and Chevrolet Traverse, positioned above the two-row XT5 in Cadillac’s lineup.

Powertrain: The Premium Luxury and Sport trims used a 3.6-liter naturally aspirated V6 making 310 hp and 367 Nm, paired with a 9-speed automatic. A 2.0-liter turbo four (237 hp) was offered on the base Luxury trim. Front-wheel drive was standard, with all-wheel drive available across the range.

Production wind-down: Cadillac built the XT6 through the 2025 model year as it introduced the electric Vistiq as a similarly sized replacement, then discontinued the gas model.

Return: In July 2026, Cadillac confirmed the XT6 (and the smaller XT5) will return with gasoline engines, reversing the earlier EV-only plan. Pricing, timing, and whether the new car carries over the previous generation’s powertrain have not been disclosed.
