Chevrolet Equinox EV platform and positioning
The Chevrolet Equinox EV is the electric counterpart to the Chevrolet Equinox in name only. It is a different car, on GM’s Ultium platform, and longer than the gasoline model at 4,840 mm on a 2,954 mm wheelbase. GM builds it at its Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico, and it went on sale in the US in 2024. The 2027 model year’s main change is a native NACS charging port.
Chevrolet Equinox EV range and charging
The battery is rated at 85 kWh, a figure GM does not publish on its site. Front-wheel-drive cars make 220 hp and 243 lb-ft (329 Nm) and are rated by the EPA at 319 miles (513 km); all-wheel-drive cars make 300 hp and 355 lb-ft (481 Nm) and are rated at 307 miles (494 km). The spec table shows the front-wheel-drive figures.
DC fast charging peaks at 150 kW, and Chevrolet says the 2027 car adds up to 80 miles of range in 10 minutes. The standard AC charger is 11.5 kW. GM covers the battery with an 8-year, 100,000-mile limited warranty.

Chevrolet Equinox EV price and trims
The 2027 Equinox EV starts at $34,995 for the LT 1, before destination. The LT 2 is $42,095 and the RS $44,395, and Chevrolet lists the RS with a unique front and rear fascia, black accents and 21-inch black wheels. The prices above are front-wheel drive; all-wheel drive is optional on every trim and is not broken out in the spec table.
