Geely Galaxy Starshine 6 platform and positioning
The Galaxy Starshine 6 launched in China in October 2025 as the plug-in hybrid counterpart of the fifth-generation Geely Emgrand. It sits on Geely’s GEA architecture with MacPherson struts at the front and a torsion beam at the rear, and it offers a 609-litre boot. Unladen weight runs from 1,505 kg on the 8.5 kWh cars to 1,675 kg on the 28.3 kWh EF.
Geely Galaxy Starshine 6 powertrain and range
The EM version pairs a 1.5-litre engine with one electric motor driving the front wheels. Geely quotes 60 km of CLTC electric range on the 8.5 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery and 125 km on the 17 kWh pack, up to 1,700 km of combined range, 2.8 l/100 km of fuel and 11 kWh/100 km of electricity. The 17 kWh car charges at up to 35 kW DC and 3.3 kW AC.
Galaxy Starshine 6 EF, the methanol version
Geely added the EF on 3 November 2026. Its engine and motor are both stronger than the EM’s, and the 130 km car uses a 17 kWh battery while the two 230 km cars use 28.3 kWh. On a full methanol tank and full battery Geely claims 1,250 km of CLTC range, against 1,880 km on gasoline.
