The Jaecoo 7 is a mid-size SUV from Jaecoo, the export-focused SUV brand Chery launched in 2023 alongside sister brand Omoda. It measures 4,500 mm long, 1,865 mm wide and 1,680 mm tall on a 2,670 mm wheelbase, and competes in the same segment as the Nissan Qashqai and Ford Puma.
Three powertrains are offered. The entry point is a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 145 hp, available with front-wheel drive (0-62 mph in 10.3 seconds) or all-wheel drive (11.8 seconds). A 1.5-litre full-hybrid version (Jaecoo calls it SHS-H) combines the engine with an electric motor for a combined 224 hp and 8.3 seconds to 62 mph, with no plug required. At the top of the range, a plug-in hybrid (SHS-P) pairs the same 1.5-litre engine with an 18.3 kWh battery for 201 hp combined, 8.5 seconds to 62 mph, and an official 56 miles of electric-only range.
Inside, the Jaecoo 7 is built around twin digital displays, a driver instrument screen and a portrait infotainment touchscreen running Jaecoo’s own software, with an ambient lighting strip running the width of the dashboard. Higher trims add ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a head-up display and a heated steering wheel.
UK prices start from £29,195 for the full-hybrid, rising to £29,210-£30,115 for the petrol Deluxe trim and up to £34,025 for the PHEV Luxury trim, with a range-topping Luxury Black version priced from £36,505. Every Jaecoo 7 carries the brand’s seven-year, 100,000-mile warranty.
