The fifth-generation Kia Sportage, on sale since 2021, received a mid-cycle refresh for the 2026 model year in November 2024, with updated exterior lighting and interior tech. It is built in two body lengths: a short-wheelbase version for Europe at 4,515 mm on a 2,680 mm wheelbase, and a longer-wheelbase version sold in North America, Korea and other markets at 4,660 mm on a 2,755 mm wheelbase, both sharing a 1,865 mm width.
The petrol range runs from a 156 hp 2.0-litre naturally aspirated engine to a 1.6-litre turbo offered in outputs up to 180 hp and 265 Nm, with North America instead getting a 187 hp 2.5-litre unit. Diesel options include 115 hp and 186 hp 1.6 and 2.0-litre CRDi engines with all-wheel drive on the larger unit. Electrified versions pair the 1.6-litre turbo with a hybrid system for 230 hp, or a larger battery for a 265 hp plug-in hybrid with all-wheel drive standard on both. Kia has not published a full set of official 0-100 km/h figures across every market variant.
Inside, the Sportage carries Kia’s curved dual-screen dashboard combining the driver display and infotainment, along with a haptic climate control panel that toggles between climate and media functions. Driver-assistance features include highway driving assist and remote parking on higher trims.
Pricing varies significantly by market and powertrain given the wheelbase and engine spread; buyers should check local Kia pricing pages for the exact trim lineup available where they live.
