Poland market growth in June

Poland registered 58,981 new cars in June 2026, up 19% year on year, and the market is now up 9.4% for the first half of the year to 312,048 units. The month’s real story sits further down the model chart: the MG HS climbed to 4th place among every model sold in the country, the nameplate’s best result since it went on sale in Poland.

MG HS sales rose 203% year on year in June. That lifted parent brand MG to 2,023 units and 11th place among all brands, up 144% on a year earlier. Other Chinese-owned brands moved faster still: BYD grew 233% to 1,334 cars for 15th place, and Chery, only a year into the Polish market, reached 19th.

The Skoda Octavia retook the overall lead from the Toyota Corolla, which had topped May’s chart, while Kia Sportage held third for a second straight month. Hyundai Tucson slipped one place to make room for the MG HS. Volvo XC60 and Volkswagen T-Roc broke into the top 10, both outside the ranking the month before.

The Skoda Octavia reclaimed the overall lead from the Toyota Corolla in June.

Brand-level rankings moved less than the model chart. Toyota kept the overall lead on 6,807 cars, Skoda held second, and Volkswagen climbed to third on a 31.9% rise to 4,415. Kia and BMW rounded out the top five.

A single month is not a trend, and MG HS’s climb owes something to a low base a year ago. Even so, the model outsold established nameplates like the Hyundai Tucson and Toyota Yaris Cross, and it did that in a market that was growing, not shrinking to make room for it.
