The Lepas L4 EV is the battery-electric version of Chery’s smallest Lepas SUV, revealed at the Beijing Auto Show in April 2026 as part of the brand’s first wave of NEV (new-energy vehicle) models, alongside the L6 EV and L6 PHEV. It shares the L4’s body and Chery’s LEX platform, measuring 4,406 mm long, 1,820 mm wide, and 1,635 mm tall on a 2,700 mm wheelbase, with a multi-link independent rear suspension.
A single electric motor drives the front wheels, producing 160 kW (215 hp). Lepas describes “500 km-class” range with fast-charging capability but has not disclosed battery capacity or a test-cycle figure. Outside estimates, based on the related Jaecoo J5 EV, have put the pack around 61 to 67 kWh, but these numbers are not yet confirmed by Lepas.
The car carries 21 driver-assistance and connectivity features, according to Lepas, though the brand has not itemized the exact suite for this model. It is positioned as an affordable alternative to small premium electric SUVs such as the BMW iX1, Volvo EX30, and Mercedes GLA in markets like Australia and the UK.
Lepas plans to launch the L4 EV alongside a plug-in hybrid variant around October 2026, in markets including Australia; pricing has not been announced.
