Overview

The Lepas L6 is a mid-size SUV in Chery’s global sub-brand, twinned with the Chery Tiggo 7 on the LEX platform. It measures 4,552 mm long, 1,852 mm wide, and 1,682 mm tall on a 2,700 mm wheelbase, sitting between the smaller L4 and the larger L8 in the lineup.

The L6 uses a plug-in hybrid powertrain: a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine (143 hp, 215 Nm) works with an electric motor (204 hp equivalent, 310 Nm) through a single-speed dedicated hybrid transmission, for a combined 279 hp and 365 Nm. An 18.4 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery drives the front wheels, with Lepas quoting 0-100 km/h in 8.7 seconds and combined fuel consumption of 4.99 L/100 km.

This plug-in hybrid sits alongside a separate, fully electric Lepas L6 EV in the lineup, giving buyers a choice between the two powertrains under the same L6 nameplate.

Lepas has confirmed the L6 for Malaysia and Thailand, with Australia to follow, as part of the brand’s expansion into Southeast Asian and right-hand-drive markets through 2026.
