Mazda CX-6e platform and positioning
The Mazda CX-6e is a mid-size electric SUV developed and built by the Changan Mazda joint venture on Changan’s EPA platform, the same architecture underpinning the Deepal S07. In China it is sold as the Mazda EZ-60, where it launched in September 2025. Export markets use the CX-6e name. It has been on sale in Germany since mid-2026, and Thailand follows from 7 October 2026, the earliest confirmed date among its right-hand-drive markets; the UK and Australia have both announced pricing for later in 2026 without a specific on-sale date yet.
Mazda CX-6e powertrain and range
China buyers choose between two powertrains. The EREV pairs a 1.5-litre range extender rated at 70 kW with a 190 kW (255 hp), 290 Nm drive motor and a 31.73 kWh battery, good for 200 km of CLTC electric-only range before the range extender kicks in. The EV uses a single 190 kW (255 hp) rear-mounted motor with a larger 77.94 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery for 600 km of CLTC range. Export markets, including Europe and Thailand (from 7 October 2026), get the EV only, with a 78 kWh LFP battery rated at 484 km on the WLTP cycle and an identical 190 kW (258 PS) motor. Charging runs up to 11 kW AC and 195 kW DC, for a 10-80% top-up in about 24 minutes.
Mazda CX-6e driver assistance
A September 2026 update added a roof-mounted Hesai ATX LiDAR unit to four China-market trims, working alongside three millimetre-wave radars, 11 cameras and 12 ultrasonic sensors for forward detection beyond 250 metres. Mazda says the LiDAR-equipped cars cover more than 200 assisted-driving scenarios, including highway ramp entry and exit, service-area access and automated lane changes. As of September 2026, LiDAR is offered only on China-market trims.
Mazda CX-6e price and trims
In China, the EZ-60 lineup spans nine trims from 113,900 to 166,900 yuan (~$16,900–24,800) (limited-time prices). The EREV range runs Air (113,900 yuan (~$16,900)), Pro (133,900 yuan (~$19,900)) and Max (148,900 yuan (~$22,100)); the EV range runs Pro (139,900 yuan (~$20,800)) and Max (154,900 yuan (~$23,000)). Four of those nine trims add LiDAR for a 12,000 yuan (~$1,800) premium: EREV Pro LiDAR at 145,900 yuan (~$21,700), EREV Max LiDAR at 160,900 yuan (~$23,900), EV Pro LiDAR at 151,900 yuan (~$22,600), and EV Max LiDAR at 166,900 yuan (~$24,800). In Germany, the CX-6e starts at €49,990 for the Takumi trim and €52,990 for the Takumi Plus, which adds 21-inch wheels and upgraded interior trim.
