Nissan NX7 platform and positioning
The NX7 is a compact SUV built for China by Dongfeng Nissan, the joint venture that also develops the N6 and N7 sedans and the larger NX8. It is the fourth car in that locally developed N-series, and slots below the NX8 in the range. Dongfeng Nissan released the first official images in August 2026.
Nissan NX7 design
The production car appears to draw on the Nissan Urban concept, taking its split headlights, smooth nose and floating roofline. An optional lidar unit sits above the windscreen, feeding an extended driver-assistance package. The door handles are semi-flush, which sets the NX7 apart from the rest of the N-series, where the handles retract fully. At the rear, a full-width light bar with segmented internal graphics is paired with an illuminated Nissan badge.
Nissan NX7 powertrain and range
Nissan has published no specification sheet, but regulatory filings reported on 10 October 2026 fill in much of it. According to those filings the NX7 is 4,785 mm long with a 2,815 mm wheelbase and weighs 1,915-2,000 kg. Width and height are listed as 1,932 x 1,665 mm in one entry and 1,920 x 1,660 mm in alternative configurations.
The same filings list a 40.95 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery with cells from the CATL-FAW joint venture, a 1.5 L naturally aspirated engine rated 73 kW and an electric motor with a 170 kW peak. Electric range is 220 km or 225 km depending on configuration, measured on the WLTC cycle.
Nissan NX7 price and trims
Pricing and final trims have not been announced. Launch is expected in the fourth quarter of 2026, according to the report, and Chinese sales are planned before the end of 2026. Nissan has said it intends to expand the China-developed N-series into export markets, though it has not named the NX7 as one of the cars or given a market or date.
