Overview

The GRMN Corolla is the sharpest version of Toyota’s GR Corolla hot hatch, developed by Toyota Gazoo Racing and signed off after development at the Nürburgring. It will be built in a limited run, with orders opening in autumn 2026 and deliveries following in 2027.

Engine. The car uses the familiar G16E-GTS 1.6-litre turbocharged three-cylinder, here producing 304 hp and 415 Nm - 15 Nm more torque than the standard GR Corolla. An intercooler with water injection helps manage intake temperatures. There is only one transmission: a six-speed manual, driving all four wheels through Toyota’s GR-FOUR system.

Weight and chassis. Built on Toyota’s GA-C (TNGA) platform, the GRMN tips the scales at 1,450 kg - about 30 kg lighter than a manual GR Corolla. It runs adjustable single-tube dampers and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres in 245/40 R18, 10 mm wider than before, with retuned drivetrain and steering calibration.

Aerodynamics. A carbon-fibre body kit adds a bonnet vent, louvres in the front wings to release pressure, and an adjustable, high-mounted rear wing.

Interior. Japanese cars get deeply bolstered bucket seats; US cars receive sport seats. The rear bench is removed entirely to save weight, and the dashboard carries “Morizo” embroidery - a nod to the racing alias of Toyota chairman Akio Toyoda.

Pricing has not been announced.
