The ID.Unyx 08 is Volkswagen’s first mass-produced model co-developed with XPeng, and the brand’s first fully connected, all-electric full-size SUV built specifically for China. It reached series production at Volkswagen Anhui in Hefei roughly 24 months after the VW-XPeng partnership began, and went on sale in China in April 2026.
Platform and charging. The SUV runs on an 800V electrical architecture developed with XPeng, supporting fast DC charging that adds around 150 km of range in five minutes. It also carries Volkswagen’s locally engineered China Electronic Architecture (CEA), a zonal electrical system, alongside Level 2 driver assistance and over-the-air software updates.
Powertrain. Two single-motor, rear-wheel-drive trims lead the range: Pure, with an 82.4 kWh battery and 630 km of CLTC range, and Ultra, with a 95 kWh battery stretching that to 730 km. Both use a 308 hp motor. The Max trim adds a second motor for all-wheel drive and 496 hp combined, reaching 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, though its CLTC range drops to 700 km on the same 95 kWh pack. Both battery packs are CATL-made lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells.
Dimensions and pricing. The ID.Unyx 08 measures 5,000 mm long on a 3,030 mm wheelbase. It launched with three trims priced from 229,900 to 289,900 yuan.
