Audi has revealed the Q9, a new full-size flagship SUV that sits above the Q7 and Q8 in the lineup. At 5,309 mm long, Audi says it is the largest crossover the brand has built, and it goes on sale alongside a high-performance SQ9 for the US. The Q9 is built at Audi’s plant in Bratislava, Slovakia, with orders opening from July 2026 and deliveries starting that November.
Different engines for different markets
In Europe, the Q9 launches with a 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel backed by a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, in two outputs - 245 or 299 hp. Both drive through an eight-speed Tiptronic automatic and quattro all-wheel drive.
The United States gets petrol power instead: a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 with 435 hp. Above it sits the SQ9, with a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 591 hp.
Technology and interior
The cabin carries three displays across the dashboard, along with air suspension and doors that open automatically. OLED tail lights and a panoramic glass roof with switchable transparency feature throughout the range, and a Bang & Olufsen sound system with 4D audio is available as an option.
Pricing
In Germany the Q9 starts at €108,400, about $118,100. In the US, the Q9 starts from $87,700 and the SQ9 from $118,000.
