BYD put the Da Han on sale in China on 13 October, seven weeks after pre-sales opened at the Chengdu Auto Show. The launch covers the three battery-electric versions only; the plug-in hybrid BYD has filed is not part of it.

Each launch price is lower than the pre-sale figure, by 14,000, 20,000 and 24,000 yuan respectively. Buyers also get a year of free flash charging and a trade-in subsidy of 10,000 yuan (~$1,500) at launch.
What you get
All three versions use the same 102.3 kWh second-generation Blade battery. The rear-drive cars have a single 370 kW (496 hp) motor, reach 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and are rated at 1,008 km on the CLTC cycle. The all-wheel-drive car adds a 200 kW front motor for 570 kW (764 hp), does 0-100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and is rated at 880 km.
On a BYD flash charger the pack goes from 10 to 97% in 9 minutes, and BYD says that takes 3 minutes longer at minus 30 °C. Rear-wheel steering is standard, giving a minimum turning radius of 4.95 m on a car 5,256 mm long with a 3,130 mm wheelbase.
The Da Han was first shown in August, when BYD published its filed specifications.
