BYD opened reservations for the second-generation Seal 07 in China on 26 October 2026, without a price. The car first appeared in a type-approval filing on 7 August, according to CarNewsChina. CnEVPost says the reservations are not purchase commitments, and customers can change colour and configuration after launch.
Second-generation Seal 07 size
The new car is 5,080 mm long, 1,960 mm wide and 1,495 mm tall on a 2,960 mm wheelbase, which BYD says expands cabin space. CnEVPost puts it 85 mm longer than the Seal 07 EV launched in March, with a 60 mm longer wheelbase.

The boot holds 618 litres and the front trunk 160 litres. The car BYD showed has a roof-mounted LiDAR, and BYD has not said how equipment varies by trim.
Second-generation Seal 07 powertrains
CarNewsChina reports two powertrains. The plug-in hybrid has a 1.5-litre turbo engine rated at 115 kW, a 160 kW (215 hp) motor and a 38 kWh battery, with 245 km of electric range on the WLTC cycle. The electric version has a motor with a peak output of 300 kW (402 hp) and up to 718 km of range on the WLTP cycle. CnEVPost adds that the electric version’s filing also lists a 245 kW motor.
BYD promotes the second-generation Blade Battery’s flash charging as “ready in 5 minutes, full in 9 minutes”. The price is not announced. CarNewsChina reports display cars reaching Chinese dealers ahead of a 5 November launch, but notes that BYD has yet to announce the launch date itself.
