Overview

Seal 07 platform and positioning

The second-generation Seal 07 is a larger sedan in BYD’s Ocean range. It follows the Ocean Aesthetics 2.0 design language of the Seal 08, with split headlights, a closed grille and full-width taillights. China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology showed it in filings on 7 August 2026, BYD previewed the exterior on 28 September, and reservations opened on 26 October without a price.

Seal 07 size

The car is 5,080 mm long, 1,960 mm wide and 1,495 mm tall, on a 2,960 mm wheelbase. The Seal 07 EV launched in March 2026 is 4,995 mm long and 1,910 mm wide, with a 2,900 mm wheelbase and the same height. Boot space is 618 litres, with a 160-litre front trunk. A roof-mounted LiDAR appears on the car BYD showed, though BYD has not said which trims get it or what driver assistance it supports.

Seal 07 powertrain and range

The DM-i plug-in hybrid uses a 115 kW 1.5-litre turbo engine and a 160 kW (215 hp) electric motor, with a 38.029 kWh battery. The filing lists 245 km of electric range on the WLTC cycle and a top speed of 190 km/h.

The electric version has two motors listed, 245 kW and 300 kW. The 300 kW car carries an 88.682 kWh pack and is listed at 875 km on the CLTC cycle and 718 km on WLTP, with a top speed of 240 km/h. The 245 kW car has a 76.744 kWh pack and 775 km of CLTC range. Both powertrains use BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery with flash charging, which BYD promotes as “ready in 5 minutes, full in 9 minutes”, and DiSus-M magnetorheological suspension.

Inside the Seal 07

The cabin keeps a large floating central display and a digital instrument cluster and adds a three-spoke steering wheel. The front seats have massage, ventilation and heating, and the audio system has 20 speakers. There are three interior colour schemes and six exterior colours.

Seal 07 price and trims

No price, trim list or on-sale date was published when reservations opened. CarNewsChina reports a 5 November launch, which BYD has not confirmed. Customers can change colour and configuration after launch.
