The 2026 Niro refresh is the first time Kia has reduced rather than expanded a lineup. PHEV and EV variants are gone — Hyundai Motor Group is clearing that space for next-generation electric models. What remains is one HEV.

Powertrain — 1.6 GDI petrol (102 hp) paired with a 44 hp electric motor through a 6-speed dual-clutch. Combined: 138 hp / 265 Nm. Front-wheel drive. 0–100 in 11.3 seconds. Top speed: 170 km/h.

Platform — K3 (Hyundai Motor Group). Length grew 10 mm to 4430 mm; wheelbase stays at 2720 mm.

Exterior — new bumpers, grille and headlights. Rear number plate moved from the tailgate to the bumper. Contrasting C-pillar trim removed. New 18” wheels.

Interior — new steering wheel, dual 12.3” displays, head-up display, wireless charging, 360° cameras, adaptive cruise control.

Price — European launch later in 2026, no pricing announced. The outgoing HEV started at €33,990. Toyota Yaris Cross HEV starts at €26,090 for context — a closer segment rival than anything fully electric.
