Mercedes-AMG revealed the electric AMG GT SUV on 17 October. It is the first SUV the performance brand has developed itself, and the second car on its AMG.EA electric platform after the AMG GT 4-door. Orders for the entry-level GT 53 open on 20 October at 113,050 euros in Germany, including VAT. The GT 55 and GT 63 follow in spring 2027, with no prices yet.
Three versions, one platform
The GT 53 has two motors. The GT 55 and GT 63 have three axial-flux motors, and both can sustain 530 kW rather than only peak for a few seconds, against 270 kW on the GT 53.
| GT 53 | GT 55 | GT 63 | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Peak power (kW) | 400 | 600 | 860 |
| Peak power (hp) | 536 | 805 | 1,153 |
| 0-100 km/h (s) | 4.2 | 3.1 | 2.7 |
| WLTP range (km) | 597-668 | 525-700 | 525-700 |
Mercedes gives the GT 63 a 0-100 km/h time of 2.5 seconds when a one-foot rollout is excluded from the measurement. The 525 km figure belongs to the 106 kWh pack that the GT 55 and GT 63 can also be ordered with, while 700 km needs the 128 kWh pack. All figures are provisional until type approval.
Charging
The 128 kWh pack charges at up to 710 kW, which Mercedes says adds up to 450 km of WLTP range in ten minutes. Going from 10 to 80% takes up to 12 minutes. The 106 kWh pack charges at up to 600 kW and needs up to 11 minutes for the same window. On a 400 kW charger the times rise to 14 minutes (106 kWh) and 16 minutes (128 kWh).
What differs from the GT 4-door
The SUV is 5,084 mm long, 10 mm shorter than the 4-door’s 5,094 mm, but it carries a 607-litre boot against 415 litres and a 78-litre front trunk against 41 litres. Our 4-door page lists a 106 kWh pack and 600 kW charging, so the 128 kWh pack and 710 kW are new with the SUV.

The GT 55 and GT 63 get three rotary controls, the AMG Race Engineer, for throttle response, cornering behaviour and slip. The GT 63 also comes with the new AMG Active Ride Control+ suspension as standard, which counters pitch and roll actively. In the AMGFORCE Sport+ driving programme the car plays a V8 sound (a six-cylinder one on the GT 53) with simulated gear changes and seat shakers.
Production and timing
Mercedes builds the SUV at its Sindelfingen plant, where Hall 32 was converted for AMG.EA vehicles. The release gives no delivery date for the GT 53, and the GT 55 and GT 63 prices are still to come.
