The Mercedes-Benz EQE sedan will not return to the US for the 2027 model year, and neither will the AMG EQE. A Mercedes-Benz spokesperson confirmed the decision to Car and Driver in early October. The electric sedan arrived in the US in 2023 as the battery-powered alternative to the E-Class.
Mercedes paused EQE production for the US market in 2025. The sedan came back for 2026 with a cheaper base version: the EQE 320+ starts at $64,950, $9,950 less than the 2025 EQE 350+ it replaced at $74,900, and makes 315 hp, 27 hp more. Both prices exclude the destination charge, $1,250 on the 2026 car.
Two other models leave the US lineup with the EQE sedan: the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV and the Mercedes-AMG S 63 E Performance plug-in hybrid. The EQS sedan and the EQS SUV remain on sale.
The EQE sedan’s replacement is an electric E-Class, due in 2027 on MB.EA-M, the 800-volt platform Mercedes already uses for the electric GLC and C-Class. Mercedes had planned to put the car on the larger MB.EA-L platform in 2028, according to auto motor und sport, and brought it forward by switching platforms.
