GLC Electric platform and positioning
Mercedes-Benz revealed the electric GLC at the IAA Mobility show in Munich in September 2025. Mercedes calls it the GLC with EQ Technology. It sits on MB.EA, the dedicated 800-volt electric platform it shares with the C-Class Electric, with a 2,972 mm wheelbase. Production started in Bremen in early 2026, on the same line that builds the petrol and hybrid GLC and the EQE. In May 2026 Mercedes board member Michael Schiebe said the electric GLC had collected more orders in its first months than any other Mercedes EV.
GLC Electric range and charging
The launch version, the GLC 400 4MATIC, uses two motors for 360 kW (483 hp) and 800 Nm, with a two-speed gearbox on the rear motor. Its 94 kWh usable battery gives 673 km of WLTP range in standard form and up to 715 km in a long-range edition, and the car reaches 0-100 km/h in 4.3 seconds. It charges at up to 330 kW DC, 10-80% in about 22 minutes. The GLC 250 and GLC 300 4MATIC use an 85 kWh battery and peak at 320 kW.
