Renault’s Santa Isabel plant sits about 10 km from central Córdoba, Argentina, and traces back to March 1955, when it opened under IKA (Industrias Kaiser Argentina). Renault took a stake in IKA from 1959, and the site has run continuously since, building cars including the Renault Torino and the Fuego across its history. Cumulative production has passed 3.5 million vehicles across 34 different models in the plant’s 70 years, and Renault has recently added more than 120 robots and Industry 4.0 automation to the line.
Current production covers the Sandero, Stepway and Logan hatchbacks and sedans, the Kangoo in both passenger and cargo versions, and the Alaskan pickup. None of these currently has its own reference page on this site.
From late 2026, Santa Isabel also builds the Niagara, a new midsize pickup for Latin America that replaces the smaller Oroch. Renault has said the Niagara will be assembled only at Santa Isabel, making it the plant’s first genuinely exclusive product in the current line-up. Renault has estimated annual Niagara output at 40,000 to 60,000 units, running an initial single shift with about 1,200 workers.
