Renault has revealed the production version of the Niagara, a midsize pickup built specifically for Latin America. It rides on the RGMP platform, and Renault says it progressively replaces the Oroch, the compact pickup the brand has sold across the region since 2015.
Where it is built and sold
The Niagara is built at Renault’s Santa Isabel plant in Córdoba, Argentina, and Renault has said no other plant in the group will assemble it. Lead markets are Brazil, Argentina and Colombia. Sales start in November 2026; Renault has not announced prices.
Engine and drivetrain
At launch the Niagara runs a 1.3-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol (TCe), rated 156 hp and 270 Nm. In Brazil, where the engine also runs on ethanol, output rises to up to 160 hp. Front-wheel-drive versions get a six-speed manual gearbox; the 4x4, which adds a multi-link rear suspension, pairs the same engine with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic. Renault says a hybrid version follows later, without giving a date.
Cargo and cabin
Payload is rated at 654 kg and the bed holds 938 litres, with ground clearance up to 233 mm on the 4x4. Inside, the Niagara gets a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen running Renault’s OpenR Link software with Google built in, including the Gemini voice assistant. Standard driver-assistance features include 360-degree cameras, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping and automatic parking.
