About

Genesis is the luxury marque of Hyundai Motor Group. It began as the Hyundai Genesis sedan and was spun off into a standalone premium brand in 2015, headquartered in Seoul. The line-up spans luxury sedans (the G70, G80 and G90) and SUVs (the GV60, GV70 and GV80), with petrol, hybrid and battery-electric powertrains.

In 2024 Genesis launched Magma, a performance sub-brand positioned against Audi Sport, BMW M and Mercedes-AMG. Its halo project is the Magma GT, a concept that previews a future flagship supercar, shown alongside a GT3 racing concept.

Genesis stepped up to endurance racing in 2026, entering the Hypercar class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with its GMR-001 prototype - the brand’s first works campaign at the top level of sports-car racing.
