Ram Trucks was spun off from Dodge in 2009 as its own division, taking the truck and van lineup that had carried the Dodge Ram name since 1981. It is now one of the truck brands within Stellantis, the group formed by the 2021 merger of FCA and PSA.
The lineup centers on the Ram 1500 full-size pickup, alongside the heavy-duty 2500 and 3500 and the ProMaster commercial van. The 1500 competes in the high-volume US full-size truck segment and is offered with a range of gasoline, diesel and hybrid powertrains, plus off-road-focused trims such as the Rebel and RHO.
The commercial side of the brand grows again in 2027, when the ProMaster City returns after a five-year gap. Unlike the pickups, it is not an American design: it is the Stellantis midsize van sold in Europe as the Citroen Jumpy and Peugeot Expert, built at the Tofas plant in Bursa, Turkey.
