News about Jeep
Stellantis and Dongfeng have registered Dongfeng Stellantis Automotive Technology, a company with 8.2 billion yuan ($1.2 billion) of capital that will develop two electrified Jeeps and two Peugeots. They are built at DPCA's Wuhan plant from 2027, and the Jeeps are meant for export.
UC San Diego researchers found that KARR, an aftermarket alarm installed at dealerships across Southern California, uses one Bluetooth authentication key across all 2.2 million units sold since 2017, letting anyone nearby unlock the car, kill the ignition or sound the horn. Acrisure, which makes KARR, shipped a patch on July 20, 2026, about 18 months after the researchers first reported the flaw. Fixing it requires the owner to install an app update; roughly half of owners do not know the alarm is even in their car.
The latest special edition in Jeep's Twelve 4 Twelve programme brings back a Wrangler trim name last used in 1995. Built on the off-road Willys base with a 1-inch lift, 35-inch tyres, and Southwest-inspired graphics, the Laredo starts at $53,240 for the two-door and $55,620 for the four-door.

The Volkswagens sold in China are built by two companies, and one of them is Chinese. That arrangement started in 1983 as a condition of entry, and it has since produced badges that exist nowhere else: Jetta, Wuling, and AUDI in block capitals with no rings. Who holds which half, which brands the ventures invented for themselves, and which of the old partnerships have quietly ended.
America's car industry comes down to a few big names, and not all of the 'Big Three' are American-owned. Here is who owns what: GM, Ford, the Europe-based Stellantis behind Jeep and Ram, Tesla and the EV newcomers, and the familiar names that are now owned abroad.
Jeep is one of the oldest four-wheel drive brands, originating in WWII military vehicles. Now owned by Stellantis, it sells SUVs across all sizes. In Europe, the lineup focuses on the Avenger (compact, produced in Gliwice, Poland), Compass, and Renegade. The Avenger was launched in 2023 as the brand’s first dedicated BEV.
