The Denza D9 is a seven-seat luxury MPV from Denza, BYD’s premium new-energy brand. Now in its second generation, launched in China in April 2026, it measures 5,250 mm long, 1,960 mm wide and 1,900 mm tall on a 3,110 mm wheelbase, with a 2+2+3 seating layout built around second-row captain’s chairs.
Two powertrains are offered. The DM-i plug-in hybrid pairs a 1.5-litre engine with a 200 kW front motor and a 45 kW rear motor for 349 hp combined, drawing on a 66.5 kWh Blade Battery for 401 km of CLTC electric range and a combined range of up to 1,521 km with a full tank. The pure-electric version replaces the engine with a 115 kWh Blade Battery, offering 456 hp and 800 km of CLTC range in front-drive form, or 550 hp and 750 km with the dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup.
Both versions share BYD’s newest Flash Charging hardware, rated at up to 1,500 kW, which BYD says can take the EV from 10% to 97% in about nine minutes. Cargo space runs from 611 to 2,436 liters depending on seat configuration, and the cabin carries dual-zone climate control, second-row “zero gravity” seating, and a rear-seat entertainment screen.
Pricing for the DM-i starts at ¥359,800 (~$53,500) and rises to ¥459,800 (~$68,300) for the top Flagship trim, while the EV runs from ¥369,800 to ¥469,800 (~$54,900–69,800). The D9 has been China’s best-selling new-energy MPV since its 2022 debut, and Denza has since taken the nameplate to Europe and Australia under regional specifications.
