Overview

The Epicland X9 is the first car from Epicland, a brand Dongfeng announced in November 2025 and developed with Huawei. It is a full-size three-row SUV, 5,301 mm long on a 3,120 mm wheelbase, seating six in individual chairs, and it is sold in one powertrain configuration only: an extended-range electric drivetrain, with no petrol or plug-in hybrid version planned. Pre-orders opened in China on 18 August 2026, and the first production car came off the line in Chengdu a month earlier, on 20 July.

Powertrain and range

Every version uses the same 74.29 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery from CATL on an 800-volt system, and the same 1.5-litre turbocharged generator rated at 95 kW. The rear-drive Max Long Range has a single 300 kW (402 hp) motor and 465 km of battery-only range on China’s CLTC cycle. The two all-wheel-drive Ultra+ versions add a front motor for 420 kW (563 hp) and 760 Nm, reach 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds, and cover 432 km on the same cycle. Epicland quotes more than 1,500 km of combined range from a full battery and the 50-litre tank, and a 20 to 80 percent charge in about ten minutes on a fast enough DC charger.

Chassis and equipment

The X9 rides on double-chamber air suspension with 90 mm of travel and adds rear-wheel steering of up to seven degrees in each direction, which pulls the turning circle down to 5.3 metres despite the length. Across the 80,000 yuan spread between cheapest and dearest, most of the hardware is common: the entry Max Long Range already carries the air suspension, the HarmonyOS cabin and Huawei’s 896-line lidar. The Ultra+ versions step up to the four-lidar Qiankun ADS 5 Max sensor set.

Interior

The dashboard is built around a pair of linked 17.2-inch 3.4K screens running HarmonySpace 6, with a head-up display Huawei quotes as a 75-inch projected image and a 21-speaker audio system. The upper trims add a 21.4-inch screen in the roof for the second row.

Pre-sale prices are 299,800 yuan ($44,200) for the Max Long Range, 339,800 yuan ($50,100) for the AWD Ultra+ Long Range and 379,800 yuan ($56,000) for the AWD Ultra+ Flagship Long Range. Epicland reported 16,217 pre-orders in the first 12 hours. Final prices arrive with the launch, set for the third quarter of 2026.
