iCAUR V25 platform and positioning

The iCAUR V25 is a boxy, off-road-styled mid-size SUV from Chery’s iCAUR brand, sold in China under the brand’s domestic name, iCar. It slots between the smaller V23 and the larger V27 in the lineup, measuring 4,636 mm long, 1,920 mm wide and 1,855 mm tall on a 2,820 mm wheelbase, with 197 mm of ground clearance and seating for five.

iCAUR V25 powertrain

The V25 uses a range-extender (EREV) powertrain: a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine, rated at 115 kW (154 hp), acts only as a generator for a 33.68 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery, which then drives the electric motors. The rear-wheel-drive version runs 150 km of WLTC electric-only range and 6.9 L/100km once the engine is charging the battery; the all-wheel-drive version trims that to 145 km and 7.15 L/100km for the added hardware. Top speed is 180 km/h, and an optional towing package raises capacity to 1,800 kg.

Design leans into a squared-off, retro-off-road look, with round headlights set into a boxy grille, exposed door hinges and full-width taillights. A roof-mounted LiDAR unit is available for driver-assistance features, running on Horizon Journey 6 hardware. Chery has not yet released interior photos or cabin specification.

The V25 was revealed in China in August 2026, ahead of a launch ceremony before the end of 2026 where Chery is expected to confirm pricing and full specification. iCAUR has signalled export plans for markets including Malaysia, the Middle East and Australia, where the V25 gets a public showing at Everything Electric Sydney on 18-20 September 2026 ahead of commercial sales targeted for early 2027.
