The Itala 35 is the first model of the revived Itala brand, a compact crossover based on the GAC Trumpchi GS3 and styled with Italdesign. DR Automobiles, which owns the Itala name, sells it through a separate showroom network in Italy, the first of which opened in Turin. It sits below the Itala 56 and the seven-seat Itala 61.
The engine is a 1.5 TGDI turbo petrol with 170 CV (168 hp) and 270 Nm, driving the front wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Itala quotes 0-100 km/h in 7.5 seconds and a top speed above 190 km/h. The car is 4,410 mm long, 1,850 mm wide and 1,600 mm tall on a 2,650 mm wheelbase, and weighs 1,451 kg.
20-inch diamond-cut wheels on Pirelli P Zero tyres, adaptive LED headlights, a 360-degree camera, automatic parking, six airbags and adaptive cruise control with lane keeping are standard. The price in Italy is €35,000.
