Overview

The Discovery is Land Rover’s seven-seat family SUV, sitting below the Defender and Range Rover in size but sharing JLR’s D350 powertrain across the range. It dates to 1989, and the current generation is sold in three trims: S, Landmark, and Tempest, from £69,540 to £83,940 in the UK.

Every trim runs the same 3.0-litre straight-six D350 mild-hybrid diesel, producing 345 hp and 700 Nm through an 8-speed automatic and standard all-wheel drive. Land Rover pairs the diesel with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system for smoother stop-start and towing torque, and the Discovery can pull up to 3,500 kg.

Landmark, the mid-tier trim, is built around a Tasman Blue metallic paint finish exclusive to the model, referencing the original 1989 Discovery’s Clearwater Blue. It adds a Narvik Black roof, Graphite Atlas exterior trim, Carpathian Grey underbody protection, and 21-inch Dark Agate Grey wheels, with mountain-motif badging on the tread plates, B-pillars, and puddle lamps. Inside, Landmark gets Tech Velour upholstery, a panoramic sliding roof, and a centre-console refrigerator.

All Discovery trims share the same seven-seat cabin layout and infotainment hardware, with Tempest adding the highest level of standard equipment on top of the shared D350 mechanical package.
