The Lepas L6 is Chery’s mid-size SUV for markets outside China, twinned with the Chery Tiggo 7 on the new-generation LEX platform and sitting between the smaller L4 and the larger L8. It is sold with a choice of two powertrains under one nameplate: a battery-electric L6 EV and a plug-in hybrid. The electric car measures 4,570 mm long, 1,852 mm wide, and 1,683 mm tall on a 2,700 mm wheelbase.
A single electric motor drives the front wheels, producing 160 kW (215 hp) and 275 Nm of torque in Thai and UK specification (the Bangkok premiere quoted 242 PS), enough for a 0-100 km/h time of around 7.9 seconds. The lithium iron phosphate battery is rated at 65 to 67 kWh depending on market, giving 510 km of range on the Chinese NEDC cycle, or 449 km (279 miles) on the stricter European WLTP cycle Lepas publishes in the UK. DC fast charging tops out at 120 kW, enough for a 30-80 percent top-up in about 22 minutes.
The plug-in hybrid L6 sits alongside it under the same nameplate, on a body 18 mm shorter at 4,552 mm. A 1.5-litre turbocharged engine (143 hp, 215 Nm) works with an electric motor (204 hp equivalent, 310 Nm) through a single-speed dedicated hybrid transmission for a combined 279 hp and 365 Nm. An 18.4 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery drives the front wheels, with Lepas quoting 0-100 km/h in 8.7 seconds and combined fuel consumption of 4.99 L/100 km.
The cabin runs a 12.3-inch portrait touchscreen and a slim digital instrument cluster, with a panoramic glass roof and an eight-speaker sound system among the standard fit. Luggage space includes a frunk under the bonnet in addition to the rear boot, a layout shared with the plug-in hybrid L6.
Lepas premiered the L6 EV in Bangkok in March 2026 and launched it in Thailand on 24 July 2026, imported from China in two trims: Comfort at 769,900 baht (~$22,900) and Premium at 829,900 baht (~$24,700). Thai cars use a 160 kW (215 hp) motor and a 65.05 kWh battery. Malaysia is confirmed to follow, and an Australian launch is targeted for the final quarter of 2026.
