Overview

The Luxgen n7 is Taiwan’s first mass-produced electric vehicle, built by Foxtron, the joint venture between electronics manufacturer Foxconn and Taiwanese automaker Yulon. It rides on Foxconn’s MIH, an open EV platform the company also pitches to outside automakers as a contract-manufacturing basis, and the same car is shown internationally under Foxconn’s own Model C name.

Three powertrains are offered. The RWD Standard uses a 58 kWh battery for 230 hp and up to 420 km of NEDC range. The RWD Long Range keeps the same 230 hp motor but steps up to an 83 kWh battery for up to 664 km of range. The AWD Long Range adds a second motor for 462 hp and all-wheel drive, with a slightly lower 600 km range on the same 83 kWh pack due to the added weight and power draw.

The n7 is offered with either a standard five-seat layout or a seven-seat configuration with a third row, across both rear-drive and all-wheel-drive versions.

Foxconn has said it could bring the Model C platform to the US as a rival to the Tesla Model Y, working with a local automaker to build and sell it, but paused those plans due to new import tariffs, the end of federal EV tax credits, and a slowing US EV market. Foxconn continues to pursue EV contract-manufacturing deals elsewhere, including a partnership with Mitsubishi on an electric crossover for Australia.
