Volkswagen revealed the production version of the ID. Cross, a compact electric crossover built for the European market. It works as an EV alternative to the T-Cross: the technology and cabin are shared closely with the ID. Polo hatchback, but the ID. Cross gets its own crossover body. It measures 4,153 mm long, 1,794 mm wide and 1,581 mm tall on a 2,601 mm wheelbase.
The car uses Volkswagen’s MEB+ platform with front-wheel drive only. Two battery sizes are offered: a 37 kWh pack good for roughly 312 to 316 km WLTP, and a larger 52 kWh pack rated up to 427 km. Three power outputs are available across the range, from 85 kW (116 hp) up to 155 kW (211 hp), mirroring the motor and battery pairings already confirmed on the related ID. Polo.
Inside, the ID. Cross follows the same new interior logic as the ID. Polo: two screens, physical buttons on the steering wheel, and separate physical controls for climate with rotary dials. It marks a step back from the fully touch-based minimalism that drew criticism on earlier ID. models.
Volkswagen expects European sales to start in autumn 2026. German pricing is set to open at around €28,000, a few thousand euros above the ID. Polo, making the ID. Cross Volkswagen’s most affordable electric SUV.
