Overview

The MG RX9 is a three-row SUV built by SAIC on the same platform as the Roewe RX9 sold in China, its home market since 2023. MG has since taken the car to the Middle East from October 2024, Australia from May 2025, and Europe from March 2026, measuring 4,983 mm long on a 2,915 mm wheelbase.

A single 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine powers the range, making 204 hp and 350 Nm of torque through a 9-speed automatic transmission. Entry Comfort and STD trims send power to the front wheels, while higher Luxury and Trophy grades add all-wheel drive and a locking centre differential for light off-road use, part of a driving-mode selector that also includes Eco, Sport and Snow settings.

Inside, the RX9 seats six or seven across three rows, with 1,026 litres of boot space behind the third row. The cabin runs dual 12.3-inch displays for instruments and infotainment, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12-speaker Bose sound system, and a 540-degree camera system for parking. Ventilated front seats and 21-inch alloy wheels are available on higher trims.

Exterior construction uses high-strength steel for more than 80% of the body structure, and the RX9 carries MG’s driver-assistance suite as standard, including lane departure warning and blind-spot monitoring across the range.
