The Polestar 3 is a mid-size electric SUV and the brand’s first dedicated SUV, sharing its SPA2/SEA platform with the Volvo EX90. Unlike the EX90, the Polestar 3 is offered exclusively as a 5-seater, positioning it as a performance-oriented alternative within the same corporate family.
The US lineup runs from a 299 hp rear-wheel-drive Long range Single motor to a 489 hp all-wheel-drive Long range Dual motor, topping out at 517 hp with the Dual motor Performance pack. All three share a 111 kWh battery, with EPA-rated range falling from 350 miles on the single motor to 279 miles on the Performance pack as power rises. The Single motor reaches 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds (60 mph in 7.5); the Dual motor cuts that to 5.0 seconds (4.8), and the Performance pack to 4.7 seconds (4.5).
Standard equipment includes a 14.5-inch center touchscreen running Google-built-in software, a 25-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system on higher trims, and dual-chamber air suspension. Polestar’s Pilot Assist driver-assistance suite is standard across the range.
US pricing starts at $67,500 for the Long range Single motor before the $1,400 destination fee, rising to $79,400 for the Dual motor Performance pack. From the 2027 model year, Polestar will no longer be able to sell new vehicles in the United States under the Connected Vehicles Rule, which restricts Chinese-linked hardware and software in connected cars.
