The Rivian R3 is a smaller electric crossover that Rivian revealed in March 2024 alongside the larger R2 and the R3X. All three use the company’s Mid-Size Platform, which the R2 launched in June 2026, and the R3 sits on a wheelbase of 2,800 mm.
At the reveal Rivian announced two battery packs and single-, dual- and tri-motor versions. The larger pack is rated at more than 483 km (300 mi), a Rivian estimate with no test cycle stated, and the quickest tri-motor setup is claimed to reach 60 mph in under 3 seconds. Rivian also quotes a 10 to 80 percent DC charge in under 30 minutes through a native NACS port, with CCS supported by adapter. The announcement did not include battery capacities, power or torque.
Rivian has not announced a price or trim names. The cabin shown in the 2024 press photos has a wide central touchscreen, a separate driver display and a panoramic roof, and the car carries 11 cameras and five radar sensors for driver assistance.
