The fourth-generation Skoda Octavia has been on sale since late 2019 and received a mid-cycle facelift in February 2024, refreshing its front and rear styling while keeping the liftback’s 4,689 mm length, 1,829 mm width and 1,470 mm height (an estate version is offered alongside it). It remains one of the largest cars in the compact class, with a boot that ranges up to 600 litres in the liftback and further in the estate.
The mainstream engine is a 150 hp 1.5-litre TSI e-TEC mild hybrid driving the front wheels through a 7-speed automatic, joined by a 2.0-litre diesel offered in 115, 150 and 200 hp states of tune, the most powerful paired with all-wheel drive. At the top of the range, the vRS uses a 265 hp version of the 2.0-litre TSI petrol, reaching 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds and a 250 km/h top speed.
Inside, the cabin carries Skoda’s twin-screen layout with a configurable digital instrument cluster and up to a 13-inch central touchscreen, plus the brand’s “Simply Clever” storage touches such as an umbrella holder in the front door and a removable LED torch in the boot.
UK pricing for the mild-hybrid petrol opens at around £28,505 (~$39,000), with the vRS topping the range at roughly £37,615 (~$51,500) before options.
