Platform and layout
The smart #2 is smart’s new two-seat city car, 2,746 mm long, shown in production form at the Paris Motor Show on 12 October 2026. It sits on ECA (Electric Compact Architecture), which smart says was engineered specifically for this two-seater, with a 6.95-metre curb-to-curb turning circle and wider tyres at the rear than the front.
The rear suspension is a five-link design, which smart calls a first in the class, and the body uses the Tridion Cell Evo safety structure. Every trim has smart Pilot Assist and adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go; the cabin has a 10.1-inch central screen and an 8.8-inch driver display.
Range and charging
A rear-mounted 60 kW motor sends 130 Nm to the rear wheels. The 35.8 kWh battery uses LFP chemistry and is rated at up to 290 km WLTP, a target value, with combined consumption of 13.6 kWh/100 km. DC charging peaks at 65 kW and smart quotes 10 to 80% in 20 minutes under optimal conditions. AC charging runs at up to 11 kW on a three-phase supply, or 7.4 kW single-phase on the Pure. Vehicle-to-load output works only with a separately sold accessory and type F sockets.
