The e SKY is a kei-class electric hatchback for the Japanese market, and the first battery-electric passenger car Suzuki has built to Japan’s light-vehicle rules. Those rules cap the body at 3,400 mm long and 1,480 mm wide, and the e SKY sits just inside them at 3,395 x 1,475 x 1,625 mm on a 2,460 mm wheelbase, with a 4.4 m turning radius. It seats four.
Power comes from a single electric motor fed by a 26 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery mounted under the floor. Suzuki quotes a range target of 310 km on Japan’s WLTC cycle and energy consumption of 97 Wh/km, and credits the figure to aerodynamic work, motor efficiency and a 1,030 kg kerb weight. Motor output has not been published; kei regulations cap it at 64 PS, about 63 hp. All the performance figures Suzuki has released so far are described as provisional and may change for production.
Charging runs to 50 kW on DC, which Suzuki puts at about 25 minutes to 80 percent. A 6 kW wallbox takes about 4.5 hours and a 3 kW domestic supply about eight. The car carries a 100 V, 1,500 W socket in the cabin, so it can run household appliances or power tools from the traction battery.
Inside, a 10.1-inch display audio unit sits alongside a separate digital instrument cluster on a flat, pale dashboard. Suzuki has published no price. The formal announcement, which is expected to carry both the price and the final specification, is scheduled for autumn 2026.
