Overview

The Volkswagen Caddy is a compact van and high-roof passenger wagon built on the MQB platform. This 2026 update is the second facelift of the fourth generation, which has been on sale since 2020. Volkswagen Germany is taking pre-orders. The changes are deliberately modest: Volkswagen calls it a facelift, and the engine range carries over unchanged.

Bodies and sizes. The Caddy comes in standard and long (Maxi) wheelbases, and in four configurations: Cargo (panel van), a passenger version with five or seven seats, the Flexible seating layout, and the California camper conversion.

Powertrains. Petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid, all front-wheel drive. Volkswagen quotes outputs in metric horsepower (PS). The eHybrid pairs a 1.5 TSI with an electric motor for a system 150 PS and 350 Nm, and covers 111 to 119 km on electricity on the WLTP cycle.

The manual versions are offered on Trend, Life and “Generation” only; Style and “Edition” come with a DSG.

Inside. The cabin is where most of the work went. A new steering wheel with a flattened rim returns to physical buttons, in front of a 10.25-inch digital cluster and a 12.9-inch infotainment screen. Climate control moves to touch sliders. A 25-watt wireless charging pad and two 60-watt USB-C ports are standard. Outside, there are new 16 to 18-inch wheels, a revised colour palette, and a reworked bumper offered in two designs.
